Oh my precious sister Leona,
I am heartbroken you are gone…I have so many wonderful memories with you.
I’m so grateful you wanted to come with me camping just a month prior to your departure.
You were tired but still wanted to go.
I snuck a picture of you in your new A-frame camper looking out the window at the horizon. I’ll cherish that memory forever.
You mentioned that you and Mom would walk by the campsite we were at and want to camp there…well my dear sister, you got to. You roasted one last marshmallow over the fire on our last night.
I also remember how you and Bec would be at every special occasion and some just ordinary occasions we would have. Never needed an invite but you would come to be with me. At Taylor’s wedding when everyone was supposed to be seated for the ceremony to start, there you were following me up the back staircase filming me trying to get Tay and her big fluffy dress up the stairs so she could walk down the aisle…you wanted to be active and not just watch from a seat! I still laugh about that. Most recently when Vic had his accident, there you and Dominic were bringing them meals. I still see you waiting in the car drinking a slurpee as he took in the food. A very giving heart. Thank you for always supporting and being there.
I miss you so so much already. Your absence will be felt for all future occasions where you would have been at, dropped in, crashed, or invited me to, but I know I will see you again as Jesus has promised. We have that promise and comfort knowing this place is is not our eternal home…but you are there already.
