I'm sorry it's taken so long to catalog my remembrances of Doug. He was a great man, husband, son and father.I remember him jumping the fence to pick up dinner for his sister. He was so polite and respectful to myself and my co workers at the CaddyShack.
Then along came Kim the love his life. If was obvious that they loved one another with all their hearts.
I remember Kim coming in to announce that she was pregnant. From that day on I would touch her belly and talk to Dillon. One day after giving birth, she brought Dillon in to meet her and daddy's friends. When I spoke, Dillon locked right at me and bit was then I knew I had a very special bond.
Doug put in a sprinkler system in for Liz and I at our new house.
Doug Powell was s friend, a REAL friend that I'll miss the rest of my life.
Love to Kim, Dillon, Debbie, Darell and Stephanie. He is with you all every hour of every day.

Wonderful service today.
I’ve known Doug since the 7th grade, I’ll share this.
Right before school started at East JH, my mom signed me up for YAL football at Wasson Park. Little did I know that many of the guys on that team would be life long friends or acquaintances. Doug was one of those guys. Doug was always fun to hang out with and spend time doing silly stupid stuff.
The most genuine thing I can say about Doug would be: I never heard anyone say they didn’t like him or had a bad word attached to his name. That says volumes about him as a person and his character. My sincere condolences to his family and close friends. Heaven received another champion last week.
