Obituary of Ida May Leiker

Ida May Leiker, age 72, was born September 4, 1938 in Ellsworth, Kansas and made her journey to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 14, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Ida was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She was highly active with the Elks Wives #309 including being a past president where she dedicated her year in office to her parents, husband and granddaughter. She volunteered vast amounts of time to the Korean War Veterans association in honor of her husband Linus "Josh" Leiker who served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ida is survived by her son David Leiker, daughter in law Lori Leiker, grandchildren Christopher Jedynak, Joshua Leiker and Senya Leiker all of Colorado Springs. Her brother Roger Belleau, sisters Cindy Coker, and Sheila Strauch all of Colorado Springs. In her lifetime she also "adopted" a great many other family members, "Adopted" children Christine Mathew, Glen Hickox, Kelly Nolting and Chris Coleman, "Adopted" grandchildren Samantha Hickox, Matthew Hickox, Jacob Coleman and Austin Cadman. Ida is preceded in death by her parents Al and Addie Belleau, husband Linus "Josh" Leiker and granddaughter Dawn Leiker. A wonderful light in our lives and community has been extinguished from this world, but we know with our faith that she now resides in Heaven with the Lord. You will be missed. Visitation – April 19, 2011 from 5pm to 7pm at The Springs Funeral Services located at 3115 E. Platte Avenue in Colorado Springs. Rosary Service – April 20, 2011 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2021 W.
