Obituary of Robert Michael Auchterlonie

Rob Auchterlonie, 41, died unexpectedly March 5, 2012 at Penrose-St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born May 6, 1970, in Wichita, KS. He is the son of Gavin L. Auchterlonie and Patricia J. (Patterson) Malina.Rob graduated from Wesclin High School, class of 1989. Following graduation, he served in the Air National Guard. While serving with the Guard he was stationed in Colorado and fell in love with the state. He worked as an Optometrist Assistant and worked in the field of Optometry for the rest of his life. He loved working with people and was a perfectionist in trying to help his clients achieve good vision by customizing their optical needs. Robert's friend Luke Talley commentated that "He had a way of inspiring people to believe that dreams could come true."Rob is survived by his two sons, Johnathan (age 14) and Zach (age 10), his father Gavin and stepmother Donna Auchterlonie, his mother Patricia and stepfather Bill Malina. His sisters, Angie Cannon and Renee and brother-in-law, Richard Koeneman. His fiancée Kathy Williams and her son Christian Bridgewater. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A memorial service will be held at 4PM. Friday, March 9, 2012 at The Springs Funeral Services in Colorado Springs, CO.
