I have fond memories of my great uncle Marvin from my childhood. My thoughts and prayers for all of his (and my) family. My heart feels heavy in finding out the news of his and Lucy's passing but I know at least they are together again.

For Marv's family, please accept my condolences for your loss. I know you will miss him greatly. Marv Hopkins did a great job as the Ford Aerospace SPADOC 4A Program manager. His leadership and management skills were central in meeting many technical and programmatic challenges during the competition and after contract award in developing, testing, and fielding new capabilities critical to space defense and national security. SPADOC 4A's legacy extends to many current space capabilities were built and was integral to several future Ford Aerospace and Lockheed Martin programs. As the AF Space Command SPADOC 4A Program Manager in 1982, it was a privilege to work Marv, and I hold dearly the memories of that time. His family should be very proud of his accomplishments and contributions to this great Nation of ours. We salute you, Marv!!

Mr Hopkins was an unforgettable man. It has been over 25 years, but I rembember the first time we met. During an especially snowy and slippery day, I insisted on wearing my highest heels and, not long, found myself in a bad situation. Mr Hopkins noted my dilemma and went out of his way to help me across the LMC Bldg 1 parking lot to the front door...it was a long walk. How fortunate we made it without falling. Not once did he insinuate anything but kindness. Being the kind of man he was, I dought he ever gave this a second thought. But it just goes to show how a small jesture can make a huge difference. Rest in Peace Mr Hopkins, and thank you.

To Marv's family, It was an honor and a pleasure to work many years with Marv. He always appreciated the work we did, and was always right up front with his thanks and/or exactly what he wanted to see improved. And always with a friendly sense of humor and understanding. My condolences to you who will miss him far more than I. Godspeed, Marv!

Marv, I am so proud of the example you set as a strong leader of your family, always putting them first. You stood up for me when you didn't have to, showing strength of character. You were always there for Mike and me when we were a young married couple, leading the way. I appreciate all you did for me. and you sure did appreciate a good joke! You are a symbol of what a good man should be and I will miss you. Vicki
