Obituary of Joshua David Nowling
Josh was born in Muscatine, Iowa and moved to Colorado Springs in 1999 with his family. Joshua defined the phrase "Warrior for God" by reaching out and befriending others in need. He often ignored his own battle with Muscular Dystrophy to focus on the needs of family and friends, providing comfort, stability, and examples of what is truly important in life. He was an inspiration to so many as he fought the deadly Duchennes MD, time and again stating he would never stop fighting. At the time of his passing he had over one thousand online friends worldwide, a venue Joshua used to reach the outside world. A gaming enthusiast, despite being confined to a wheelchair with a partially functional body, he continues to receive invitations to tournaments and activities with the professional gaming community. He wished to thank all of these friends for all of the good times and he will truthfully miss all of you. He began his final great adventure with great distinction, in the last moments of life, caring about the condition of others over his own. Joshua is survived by his brother Jacob and parents Michael and Verda. Joshua asked for no services, he wished to be remembered for his accomplishments and who he was in life, rather than his death. Friends are encouraged to call after a brief period of private mourning by the family. Josh's last request was for donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association specifically Duchennes MD, as there is another Josh somewhere waiting for a cure. We look forward to the day when we will all be together again; we love you always and forever.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909
