I just saw the news and am quite saddened. "Mrs. Archer" was my den mother when I was a Cub Scout in Kansas City in the late 1960's. She was such a nice lady and spent lots of time with me. I loved her fried chicken and deviled eggs. I feel terrible about losing touch with her. She was a major figure in my childhood and quite kind. She was like a favorite aunt.

I am so sorry to have missed Kate's funeral. Kate was like a sister to my mother, Lois Truman Eastin Dalen. Kate was always bigger than life. She had a wonderful honest laughter that filled the room. Her eyes glistened with love as her boys would come rushing past her in her home. She was an amazing part of the Twyman family and all of the grandchildren. She will be missed. I hope we don't lose the connection to the Archer family

Kate was a dear cousin to our mother, Lois Twyman Eastin Dalen, in fact much like a sister to her. Lois passed away a year ago having not had the opportunity to see Kate for several years. Our thoughts and hearts are with all who loved and will greatly miss Kate.

What a joy we had with our Home Economics group when we met at Kate's lovely home with all her many collectibles and her beautiful table settings with her teacup collection. It is a beautiful memory of a gracious lady. Marjorie Woodworth, HEIH

Kate and I were first co fusins of the W. Reece Clark family. We both graduated from Kansas State University and were members of Clovia. I made my last donation to help with the kitchen remodeling in honor of Kate. I will make one more now in memory of Kate. She was a wonderful first cousin and a dear Clovia sister. She will be missed but never forgotten.

What a wonderful lady Kate was! I knew her through Cub Scouts Pack 33 in Green Mountain Falls. She had such a passion for scouting, and always had the best interest of all of the boys and their families at heart. She will be missed, but I know she is in a lovely place now and thrilled to be reunited with her Rex:)

I worked with Kate in Cub Scouts, Pack 33 and enjoyed her sense of humor! We had fun honoring her in the Bronc Day Parade, and she always participated whether it was helping organize our charter, or being in a contest with the boys to see who could pick the most ice cubes out of a tub...using only their bare feet! Hats off to Kate's caregivers, Janet Mikita, and others. You were not only caregivers, but were her Green Mtn Falls family. You all made Kate's last years the best they could be. Kate Archer was a first- class lady.

Kate was a person who exuded class. I enjoyed our lunches together and her recalling fond memories, particularly of Rex and Kansas State. I know she is in a better place and she will be missed.

Kate Archer was a force for good. It was my privilege to know her when she served on the Kansas State University College of Human Ecology Alumni Board. She was passionate about advancing extension programs--particularly 4-H Youth activities. I recall with great pleasure my visits to her lovely Colorado mountain home where she hosted countless guests and shared her warm hospitality and her delightful collections and her lifetime of experiences with us. She left a remarkable legacy as a professional and as a friend. It was my privilege to count Kate as a special friend.

I loved Mrs. Archer. She was my mentor and friend. She helped to make me the person I am today. She was always helpful and kind and she never judged me. I learned many things from her. I have many memories of time spent - and of sharing my family with her. I was very pleased to have her meet my grandson for the first time 5 years ago. I still remember her holding him when he was just a couple of weeks old. I also have memories of her farm girl side and her borrowing our BB gun to shoot the woodpeckers that made her crazy around her house. I'm happy to know that she is in a better place now with Rex. All of my love to her family.

Kate was a senior when I was a freshman at Clovia. After she graduated and married Rex, they took a carload of us undergraduates to the University of Minnesota for a Clovia meeting on the day after Thanksgiving - 1949. I had a friend at Iowa State, Marge Lindsay, a girl who I met when both of us worked at a children's camp in Wisconsin that summer. My second night in WI Marge and I sat on the pier (metal pier) and watched a thunder storm over the lake. As we did so (and survived the lightning as we dangled our feet in the water - we were 19 and invincible) Marge told me about her gorgeous brother Bob. In October three of us from Clovia spent a weekend at Iowa State, an attempt at starting a chapter there, and I met Bob. He was rather memorable. So, as we drove to MN the day before Thanksgiving, I looked for Arthur, Iowa on the map - but it was too small to be listed in the index. So I spent an hour or so going over that map inch by inch until I found it â
