Obituary of Sharon Anne Gernhardt

GERNHARDT, SHARON (McDonald), 70, of Colorado Springs, Colorado formerly of Ohio, Tennessee, and Florida, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014. She is survived by her sister, Joan (Lloyd) Wilkey; brother, Tom (Joan) McDonald; four children, Steven Flores, Amy Root, Andrew Flores, and Joseph Flores Sr. (Melissa); six grandchildren, Amber Flores, Corie Flores, Joseph Flores II, Shelby Flores, Sharon Root, and Austin Root; and one great-granddaughter, Hayleigh Flores. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marie McDonald. Her professional career was working for the United States Air Force as an Executive Administrative Assistant. Later, she worked in the tourism industry surrounding Walt Disney World. She was most proud of being a three blue-star mother and served as an Auxiliary Officer for the AMVETS in Medway, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00PM, Saturday, March 29, 2014, AMVETS Post 148, 11495 Lower Valley Pike, Medway, Ohio 45341.
