Obituary of Paul Armand Griffin

Paul Armand Griffin, 76, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on September 1, 2014. Paul was a retired phone man, a family man, and just a good guy all around. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1956 and met Leona May Walker while stationed in Denver. They eloped in 1956 and were together 57 years.As a blue-collar working man and staunch union member, it seems fitting he passed on Labor Day. He loved working with his hands, loved cars and hot rods, and even worked on a Nascar racing team for a few years around the same time that he retired from working 35 years in the telecommunications industry in 2001. He was a man of few words but made friends wherever he went. Dogs loved him. He always came to the rescue. Paul is survived by his wife; Leona Griffin, daughters; Sara Griffin of Colorado Springs and Susan Griffin of Portland, Oregon, a son; Gary Griffin of Colorado Springs, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Randal Griffin and granddaughter, Nicole Griffin.A viewing will be held at The Springs Funeral Services from 2:00PM – 4:00PM, Tuesday, September 9.
