Obituary of Edward Allen Wescott
Ed Wescott, age 83, a resident of Black Forest and Colorado Springs since 1985 and formerly of Lynn, Massachusetts, died unexpectedly on October 21, 2015 at his home. He was a retired welder, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.Edward Allen Wescott was born February 23, 1932 in Lynn, Massachusetts to the late Charles and Mary (O'Neil) Wescott. He married the love of his life, Shirley Botticelli, on May 5, 1951 in Lynn. He owned and operated Wescott Welding which he built to a successful business with a great reputation in the city of Lynn and surrounding areas until moving to Colorado with his wife Shirley to be with their children and grandchildren. Ed was an avid boater, deep sea fisherman, scuba diver, who enjoyed many a steamed clam and seafood dinner with friends and family.He is survived by his three children; Daniel Wescott of Colorado Springs, Rhonda (Richard) Kerr of Colorado Springs, and David Wescott of Louisiana. Ed has thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Wescott.He was preceded in death by his wife and soul mate, Shirley, in 2007. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Leo and his brother, Donald Wescott.Celebration of his Life, 12:00PM, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80909.Committal Services, Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Avenue. A reception will then be held at the home of Richard and Rhonda Kerr. Memorials may be made in Ed's name to Gentiva Hospice.
