Brenda, Pam and I just heard about Rich going to be the Lord. I was conducting an on-line search and ran across this obituary. Rich was a delight for me to be with when we served in Korea. I will never forget the visit of Senator Graham to Korea. We took him to the DMZ, briefed him thoroughly, and after a couple of hours headed home (the weather was bad, so we traveled by bus). When the Senator learned there was an AF officer on the bus with a PhD in economics from Univ of Texas, Austin -- the same institute where he studied and earned his PhD -- the Senator's focus completely changed. He left the side of the 4 star and sat next to Rich. They talked for the entire way home ... much to the chagrin of some of the generals on board. When we got off the bus, Senator Graham pulled me aside and said: "Take care of that young man. He has a lot to offer our country." I promised I would do my best. Even though it's almost two months since he passed, I know you're still in mourning. Since Dana offered a quote, let me add one of my favorites by Mark Twain. Twain asked the question: why is it we celebrate at birth and mourn at death? He then answered his own question, saying: it's because we aren't the person involved. We both know the greatest glory we can have is to go to the Lord. May He continue to be with you and your family. Mike and Pam Dunn

The time and opportunity to know Rich was very short for me. I am so blessed to have known him!

My sincerest condolences to all of Rich's family. He was a great classmate, officer and American. His accomplishments in and out of uniform were tremendous and I am proud to call him a fellow Airman. I wish I could be there for the service but will be present in Spirit. '83 Best to Be.

Please know that the Basden family is praying for you during this difficult time. I have such wonderful memories of growing up with the Fullerton brothers in Norman, Oklahoma. Even at a young age, Richard always loved talking airplanes with my dad who was a retired Air Force pilot. Richard will be missed very much and we will also make a donation to Compassion International Children's fund in his honor. David Basden and family

Brenda, please know that Linda and I are grieving with you during this very tough 2016 for the Fullerton family. Our memories of you two back in UPT, combined with my time with Rich at USAFA are fond and happy, but we know that life serves up trials that shape and define who we are today, not necessarily who we were. I can tell you that Rich was a unique and wonderful person who had a heart for the Lord and inspired many of us to grow in Him. I thank God He gave us Rich for this time, and I know you do too...which is why it's so hard to say "Goodbye." But for many of us, it's "See you later, Rich." and his legacy will impact our remaining days until that time comes. May you have peace in your heart, Brenda, and strength to allow our Lord to hold you in His arms when your pain seems to overwhelm. Linda and I can not make today's service, but we will be there in spirit and pause to pray today for God's glory to be revealed.
