Obituary of Jennie Carmona Vialpando

Jennie Carmona Vialpando, age 59, of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 9, 2017.Jennie was born July 20, 1957 in Los Angeles, California, where she was raised by her mother, Rebecca Portillo. Her family eventually moved to the town of La Puente, California, where she later married and raised her three children, Phillip, Christine, and Tom. Jennie was not only a mother to her children, but was a huge impact on many lives in her extended family and neighborhood. Jennie never thought twice about being there for anyone who needed a helping hand.With no secret to the life she led, Jennie made the decision to leave home in California and move to Colorado in 2000.Jennie met her loving husband, Lawrence Vialpando, and remarried on May 6, 2009. Jennie and Lawrence not only loved one another, they were inseparable, so much so, that they worked the same shift at Walmart for almost fifteen years.The love for her family eventually brought her children to Colorado, much to her and Lawrence's pleasure. Jennie gained another son soon after reuniting Lawrence with his son, Nick.Jennie was a die-hard Oakland Raiders fan. She loved shopping at the Goody (Goodwill). She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to functions at her church.
