On April 9th, my amazing mother in-law Jennie Vialpando went to be with the lord. She was a beloved woman, mother wife and friend, and someone who shaped my life in the last 9 years. When I first met Jennie her first question to me was "Do you know spanish" not sure how to answer I replied "poquito".. I'd soon learn much much more!! Jennie was great at telling stories from her past. My absolute favorite is the girl who's car windows got busted out for being in the wrong place at the wrong time..LITERALLY..Wrong place at the wrong time. Another is when she was making hamburgers and went to serve her ex-husband he took a bite and it was only bread no burger.. She laughed and laughed after telling that story. Another was when Tom was in trouble and he tried jumping the wall by where they lived to go to a friends house..He took off running and she took off running too, he thought he was free until she popped around the corner and snatched him up. She'd always tell me that was her "Baby Boy" it was her way of letting him know she loved him. Jennie would never want us to forget how much she loved us. Even though there were countless other family members, she had a unique way of making us each feel adored and cherished. Jennie believed without a doubt that her 3 kids were perfect.Duh they were HER kids!!! Jennie was a regular shopper of the "Goody" I'll miss her eyes lighting up every time she'd ask if I wanted to go. She worshipped mayonnaise with her tortillas, her corn, and her beans, oh and her fideos. Pretty much on everything. Jennie was 100% happy being a wife, a mother and the "WORLDS BEST NANA". She set the gold standard and gave me real life examples of being the best. I learned many important things that go into being a good wife, mother and daughter not only in the good times but also the bad. On the afternoon of her passing Jennie was held by all of us. As we circled her bed my only hope was that she felt the love she always showed us. Jennie was fortunate enough to die exactly the way she wanted, in her own home surrounded by her family knowing she was loved and that she was the most wonderful mom in the world. I'll forever be grateful for all the wonderful memories I shared with you. I love you Jennie, know your honey babies do too!
