Obituary of Gasper "Gus" Barela

Gasper "Gus" Barela, 73, passed away on April 21, 2017. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Barela and father, Bennie Barela. He is survived by brothers, Sam (Ventura) Barela, Fred (Joan) Barela, Stephen (Ida) Barela; and sisters, Eileen (Danny) Baracz, Jean Quintana (Larry Miller), Betty Barela (John Aguallo), and Tina (Joe) Saliba. He is also survived by fifteen nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.Those who knew him were blessed to have him in their lives. He was a funny, adventurous, soulful, spirited man and enjoyed riding his Harley. He liked to live on the edge, but as he grew older, he became a reflective and spiritual man. He was intelligent and enjoyed talking with people about anything and everything. His life on this earth may be over, but it is just beginning with The Lord. We will miss him dearly.
