From Son Daniel J. Yates: My most memorable moment with my mother was when I was a kid. I had a car accident that left me unable to play or go to school. My mother was taking me to Chicago, IL. We had to attend a hearing on the accident. We traveled by train, and that should of been thrilling for a kid during that time period, but I was not fully recovered and during the trip my mom found a old guy on the train, he was a artist. My mom paid him too draw a picture of me. Later she told me that some kids play outside and some inside, she said I should learn to draw those kids as I would not be able to play much, and that way it would be like me playing. I became a Artist like my mom said, guess she could look in the future. I have never shared that story, nor have I ever seen the drawing since that train trip. However I will always remember that trip that just me and my mother took.
