What does one say at a time like this, Joe and Lil were my neighbors for 7 years in Colorado Springs. A family could not of ever had better neighbors. Joe was a mans man, he was tough as hell, he was onrey and opinionated, he wasn't ever politically correct and had no time for those that were. He and I hit it off since day one because he was my kinda guy. Not afraid to say I had love in my heart for that man and for Lil. Joe was as honest as they came, upmost integrity, was always about helping others first. I seen him physically hurt by his good deeds for others. I've had a lot of acquaintances in my life but Joe is one that I would honestly call a true friend. He would of layed down his life for those he loved and or for his country. I got to know him well enough that I was blessed to see that softer side of hm that he so artfully hid in his toughness. He was a deeply passionate caring man. He loved his wife, his family and his country. Thank you Joe for your dedication and countless years of service to our country, to your wife, and to your friends. I'm proud to of known you and to of had the honor of being your friend. RIP my ol friend as you stand at attention lookin sharp in your dress uniform now in the army of Angels still protecting those you love.

I have such fond memories of you when I was a little girl and we would all get together at Grandma's and Granddaddy's house. Every one was always so loud, laughing and talking and you were always the loudest! I loved it! I don't think that changed at all throughout the years. I think my sister Carla gets that from you. *smile* I will miss your camper - as big as a house - parked in my parents yard in the summer. I will miss visiting you at their house and catching up on what was going on in your life. Remember the time I came to "visit" you in Colorado but you were in Virginia? I guess that is what happens when you drop in on someone. I will never forget Lil's face when I showed her the picture of "my" new house and she was looking at me on the porch of her own house! I can remember you laughing and laughing at that. That memory still makes me smile. Also, remember that time you call me because you could not get in touch with mom and dad and you were worried? You also called Carla and Kelly. You apologized over and over for bothering me once you found out they were ok. Well guess what? I must get that from you because I am the exactly the same way and I would have done exactly the same thing! You left us too soon uncle JM. Of course any time would have been too soon. I will miss you and will miss the stories of you, Lil, mom, and dad traveling across the country. Until we meet again...Love you. Debbie
