Obituary of Rita Marie Gartner

Rita Gartner, beloved mother, sister, friend, passed away peacefully November 15, 2017. Rita is survived by her daughter Christa and son-in-law Shane; sister Andrea and husband Keith; sister Diane; brother Mike and wife Barbara. Rita was special in her own way to all of us. She was a strength and a shining light to all who knew her. Her personality and sense of humor lit up a room. Even in the darkest of times, Rita could find humor to lighten the mood and make us laugh. She loved taking care of plants. She loved her little dog Kai and her granddogs. When we moved to Colorado, she fell in love with the western sky and the mountains and the mule deer who frequent our yard. Rita liked to color and she had a great sense of matching and color balance. She spent a lot of time with her daughter talking, having lunch or watching movies. She liked to talk on the phone with her siblings and friends or chat with her son-in-law while he was working outside. Rita would talk with anyone. She talked to people like they were already friends. She was friendly and happy. In her early life she sang at her church either by herself or in a group. From the group, she made a longtime friend. She worked as a secretary for a long time for a couple different places. She made longtime friends from there as well. Rita will be remembered by a lot of people in a lot of different ways. We will all miss her very much.
