My Papa. Words don't seem to be good enough right now to say what I want to say. Losing you has been the hardest thing in the world. I was remembering when Buttercup got hurt and you came to my rescue to help me. I cried all day and you kept telling me that everything would be ok and kept asking what you needed to do to get my tears to stop. With your gentle, warm hands you would always wipe away my tears and make everything better. I wish I could be wrapped up in your bear hug again and hold your hand. Even though my heart is breaking I know you would wipe away my tears and tell me that everything will be ok. I miss you more than anything and I love you more than words. You are the example of the perfect man and of true love and you mean everything to me. I am so thankful for all of the time we had and the memories we made and I cherish them. I will keep working on my cake decorating and taking care of grandma. Your bug loves you. My papa, my hero, I love you so much.

What a great man. He was a true friend to my family for many many years. I Loved his laugh. He made amazing cakes. He had a heart of gold. I have so many great memories of John. He was one of my parents best friends. I imagine it took all the energy he could muster to attend my dads funeral last Saturday. Sending all my love to his family. John you will be missed!

There's so many memories to share! I'll always remember my amazing Papa for taking my brother Jake, my cousins Danicia and Winnie and myself on countless camping trips and visits to the North Pole during our summer vacations in Colorado. I spent two months of every summer with my grandparents and those summers carry some of my best memories. You could ask him about those summers and he would always joke around talking about how Dani was always running around trying to keep up with me and Jake. He would say, "all you could hear was those little legs running." Papa was always joking around and doing little things to make us grandkids smile and laugh. This last September, I was blessed to plan a 10 day trip to Colorado to surprise both Papa and Grandma. While there, we watched the movie The Secret Garden, which has the actress Maggie Smith in it. While we were watching, I talked about how Maggie Smith is one of my favorite actresses. The very next day, when I got out of bed, he handed me a movie of his and told me to keep it. It was starring Maggie Smith. He had went through all of his movies to find this one movie with this specific actress because I said that I liked her. This is just a small example of the kindness that this man had. While out for my visit back in September, I got 8 full days where I got to drink coffee and talk on the porch every morning. We got to go grocery shopping together and I got to cook breakfasts and dinners for him. He also taught me a secret or two of his! I'm so very grateful that I got to have this man in my life for as long as I did. He was an inspiration and great example of love, kindness and putting family first. I will always love you Papa!

He took me & my kids in from the first second he met us as family. Through the years he taught me many things. He always showed strength, integrity & love. I loved bantering with him about how bad his Broncos were & how great my Cowboys were! I always looked forward to spending time with him especially camping or at the beach! He is more than my father-in-law he is my 2nd daddy. Love you forever
