I always remember Angie calling my parents "Mom and Dad". She certainly loved them like a daughter. She showed her love best through her cooking. AND BOY COULD SHE COOK! When I visited her in Colorado Springs, she fixed papas, frijoles, chile colorado, fideos y tortillas. She was a one-in-a-million. Angie was a strong and valiant woman, a proud Mom, an incredible Grandma, and a very special sister-in-law--my sister-in-law. Even after she learned that she had cancer and she was in the midst of her chemo treatments, she felt it so important to update me. I always told her to get some rest first, then call me. But she didn't listen. Breathless and weak, she would call . . .and never fail to ask about Greg and Lissa, Sam and Jack, and Stevie and, of course, John. "How's his car coming?" She knew what they were all up to. Angie was a people-person. When I visited her, she and her wonderful friend Cathy took me to lunch at a local diner. She seemed to know half of the people there. Similarly, she knew everyone in her apartment complex, her bank, and at Walgreens, where she worked. There were no strangers to her just more friends to cherish. We will miss you--your generosity--your twinkling green eyes. You left us much too soon. But I know you are now watching over us. I know that you are with Mom and Dad and Lucas and all the other angels I'm sure you're cooking up a storm for all of them. Adios, Hermana!
