Obituary of Edward "Ed" Alen Davis

Ed passed away December 29, 2018 at the age of 57 at home in Colorado Springs after a twelve year battle with cancer. He fought valiantly and was incredibly positive throughout, always having a smile on his face.He was born August 17, 1961 in Ventura, California to parents Gerald "Jerry" and Antonia "Toni" (Farkas) Davis. He was the youngest of seven siblings and grew up in Saticoy, California, enjoying life on the property which is lovingly referred to as the "Ancestral Home". There were plentiful fruit trees on this property, and he always talked about the amazing jams and desserts his mother made, with strawberry rhubarb pie being one of his favorites. He graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura, California. He received his bachelor's degree from San Diego State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, and still maintained contact with some of his fraternity brothers and college friends. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1994 and worked at Cheyenne Mountain Resort for over twenty years. He raised two sons, Tyler and Kyle, and was so proud of the young men they have become. His long-time partner, Sue Daughhetee, was by his side when he passed. They enjoyed many adventures together over the last eleven years. Ed was passionate about anything related to sports. He loved to ski, golf, camp, hike and travel. He biked the Big Sur Highway, hiked Vernal Falls in Yosemite, and traveled to Italy, New Zealand and Europe. During and between these passions, he always made time to enjoy a good glass of wine, knowing life was too short to drink bad wine. He was an inspiration to us all and had the secret of life figured out. He cared deeply about the right things, truly enjoyed life, and didn't waste time on the "little things". He was always optimistic about the future, and appreciated every single day. He will be missed by all who knew him.His cremated remains will be spread in many of his favorite places to include: Yosemite, Montana De Oro, Napa, San Diego, Zion, Loveland Pass, multiple ski resorts in Colorado, and Tuscany. If you visit any of these places, please remember him with a smile.Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Toni Davis.
