Without fail, one day, each one of us will return home to our maker, and when we do we so want to rejoice in the words: " we'll-done, good and faithful servant." Joe heard those words and can rest in eternal peace knowing he truly made a difference to his fellow man. WOW! What is the count? So many Jr ROTC cadets; so many USAFA cadets,; so many young men and women-his legacy lives on in all of them and in all of us who had the pleasure to know him and call him "MAJ". In 1981 I met the man who would be so instrumental to my professional Air Force career. We all called him "Major" or simply "MAJ". He was so much more than a high school teacher! He was a true mentor and a true friend! When it was time to be commissioned there was only one choice for me-had to be the MAJ. When I visited him years later and he told me to call him Joe. I couldn't. I said, you will forever be "Major"-not simply a military rank but the highest form of reverence I could pay a man who made such an impact to my life and to the lives of so many!
