I knew Robert for a little over 20 years. My memories of him are being a family man first and foremost. Robert loved Elenor, all of his kids and grandchildren. I can still hear him saying to Brooke or Alex, "Come here little darlin'!" He always had a, "Hello!" for me when Nate and I would show up at his door. I'll never forget the bond we all had over the Broncos. What a joy it was to see them win Super Bowl 50 (The Golden One) at the Benavidez house! Another reason I looked up to Robert was his commitment to his family and our country. Robert served with dedication, both in the military and for the United States Postal Service. I never once heard him complain about the work that provided for his family. I'm comforted in knowing that he knew our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which means I will see him again.
