Obituary of Zachary Christopher Long

Zachary Christopher Long, encourager, inviter, lifter of spirits and lover of people, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019.��Zachary was 21 years old.��He was a bright light in this world.��He had the ability to raise your spirits in unexpected ways and help you have a better day.��It was hard to be in a negative space when you were in his presence.��He was intentional with his words and positivity.��He sought out people who needed an encouraging word and engaged them with compassion and kindness.��He told you what he liked and admired about you.��He always looked for a reason to offer a compliment.��He noticed little things.��He stopped to pet every dog and cat he ever passed.��He loved books - the more pages, the smaller the print, the more books in the series, the better.��He loved rain.��Books and rain together were heaven to him.��Books, rain, a cup of tea, a cookie, a blanket, and his cat Stella made life even sweeter.��Zachary was brilliant, but not motivated by success, popularity or the material things in life.��He liked to learn, just to learn.��He was curious and inquisitive, and stored a million trivial facts in his head.��He loved music, running, walking in the woods, riding his bike, rafting, camping, writing, a good meal, a good prayer, a nice cup of coffee, a decadent dessert, a drizzly day, thinking, and deep conversations.��Mostly he loved his parents, his sister, his grandparents, his cousins, his friends, his teachers, his coaches, his pastors and his God.Celebration of his Extraordinary Life, 2:00PM, Thursday, May 23, 2019, New Life Church-World Prayer Center, 11025 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80921.Contributions in Zachary's memory may be made to: NAMI Colorado Springs, https://namicoloradosprings.org/donate/ Events Celebration of Life Thursday, May 23, 2019 2:00PM World Prayer Center @ New Life Church 11025 Voyager Pkwy Colorado Springs, CO 80921 Phone: 719-536-9100
