I knew Gwen was very ill when she came through Craig a few years ago, but just found out about her passing. Gwen was a shining star. When she burst into our little town as a caseworker intern she was determined to make lives better for children. And that, she did, and everyone else in her path, including my children and family. She made us laugh so hard we cried. Her eyes twinkled. After she moved to Eastern Colorado, her apartment became base camp for son, Cass, son and I when we went to watch his brother, Chris, play football for CC. And she introduced son, Donnie, and I to Garth Brooks up in Cheyenne. He was her first love before meeting her true love, Warren. She fell for him from the moment she spotted him at work. Her letters were full to the brim with her love for Warren and her children. I am so grateful for her courage to come all the way here to visit and say goodbye. I miss her and send loving thoughts to her family and friends. Gwen is and was one of a kind.

I have known Gwen since middle school. My sister lives in Riverdale, so every time I drive by Elwell I have wonderful memories of playing with her, and sometimes getting into a little trouble! She was a great friend and classmate, who will be greatly missed. May God hold her, her whole family, and all of her friends in the palm of his hands! With great love, Christine (Fleming) Cooley & family

Oh Gwen, gone far too soon. You made me laugh so often. You called me "Giner", invited me to your home, made life so much better. Last conversation was "shop talk." You sure will be missed. Gina

Gwen was was a wonderful lady who brought sunlight with her everyday. As a PSR for my watch she was very much a part of our team. I was so happy for her and Warren when they became a couple. The world is a lesser place without her...

To all Gwen's friends and family members...my thoughts and prayers go out to you. I worked with Gwen when she was a CSPD PSR, and never passed up an opportunity to step into her work space just to say Hi. She had an infectious smile and laugh that brought levity to every moment. Gwen...you will be missed! Lisa

It's taken me awhile to write this tribute without crying. I knew Gwenn from working with her at the Broadmoor. Her nickname for me was Gordy. I don't think she knew my real first name haha. We went to Cheyenne Frontier Days to see Garth Brooks and he ended up in our hotel room, talking and taking pictures. He was such a gentleman and was the best time ever. Then there was the time I pulled a prank on her. For my birthday She took a piece of styrofoam and had it decorated like a birthday cake - she got me good. So many fond memories with woman! Love and miss you Gwenny! Melodee

Thoughts and Prayers for the Torpey/Listul families. Gwen and I were best friends in High School, we had a blast together! I loved her family as well. She celebrated with us almost 40 years ago in our wedding. Her dream came true when she moved to Colorado. She loved God and her Family. So sorry she has had to endure all this. Gone way to soon, but I will see you again. Love you girl. ❤️

Gwen. You were a beautiful lady while here on earth. Inside and out. Your smile was contagious and your heart was so kind, generous and treated everyone with respect. Heaven gained an angel but I know your presence on earth will be deeply mussed.

How blessed I was to have a 40 year friendship with someone as wonderful as Gwen. She truly changed my world by bringing me out to Colorado and showing me how to have a zest for living life to the fullest. She had a nickname for everyone and everything and could make me laugh so hard! She is irreplaceable and I will carry her with me for the rest of my life. I love you Gwen. My thoughts, love and prayers are with Warren, Katie, Cooper and her brothers and sisters. Dawn Braun Combs

Having Gwen as my sister-in-law was such a great honor, it is hard to express. I too married into the Listul family, and since all of my own family was out of state, Gwen and I became like sisters! Wait, we were closer than I was with my blood sisters. It has been 24 years since I met Gwen, ever since then, I have known what a truly selfless person was; that was Gwen. She ALWAYS took time to help others, no matter how full her schedule was, and no matter how poorly she was feeling. And she always did it with a smile! She will always hold a very special place in my heart.
