Obituary of John Dixon "J.D." Vink

John Dixon Vink, 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family August 31, 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.He was born June 23, 1960 to Stanley and Vivian (DeBoer) Vink in Sheldon, Iowa. He was raised in Boise, Idaho until he was 14, when his family moved to Sanborn, Iowa.John graduated from Western Iowa Tech as a Diesel Technician and worked for Sioux City Kenworth for several years. He was united in marriage to Patricia Singer on January 2, 1982. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1986 where they made their home and John worked as a Diesel Technician in Colorado Springs for the rest of his working years.He loved his son and grandchildren. John also enjoyed riding Harley's and tinkering with motors.He was preceded in death by his sister, Vicky; and his parents.John is survived by his wife, Patricia Vink; son, Chad Allen (Jennifer) Vink; three grandchildren, Kenzie, Christa and Marcella; and four great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Jleigh, Cylas and Zandon; brother, Tony Vink; sister, Belinda McEntee; niece, Tamara Elvira; and nephew, Tony Randall.Celebration of Life, 2:00PM, Saturday, September 14, 2019, held at the family's home, 426 Autumn Place, Fountain, Colorado 80817.Celebration will be casual. Come comfortable and bring your memories to share. We are having a potluck so bring your favorite dish to share. We will be cooking burgers and dogs on the grill.
