We remember John standing at his truck with his dog at his side. Peaceful. And then there was little Emma from up the street who came to play with Dixie and Big John sitting on the ground with both of them. When neighbors Darrin & Cherie were moving to MIssouri, their U-Haul was in the driveway and an impossible number of household items in the garage. They were inside the house having a sandwich and emerged to find John leaning on the truck with his work clothes on. He said, "I know how to load a truck," and indeed, he did!

Met John and Pat in LeMars IA back in the 80'S. Was a difficult time in my life and the life of my two young children, both John and Pat welcomed us into their hearts and home and sharing strength wisdom and hope. Throughout life people come and go but there are those that leave a stamp on your heart and I've always tried to pass their acceptance and love forward. Hugs to the family, glad you dropped into my life those many years ago. I remember making gingerbread houses in your kitchen ,,,the kids remember it well too. Elaine Mallette-Karli

Omg I have so many . But one of my favorites that shows what kind of dad he was . It was my first bike ralley I was riding to on my own bike . When I was young I rode on the back of his then i became the chase car driver when I got my license. Then I got my brand new 1999 shortsrer and I was riding to durango. Think 400 plus miles and we was leaving Thursday . That monday before lady cut him off and he laid the bike down at 70 plus miles an hour .road rash like 9 stitches in his knees torn ligament in shoulder. Bike suffered a broken fender mount .Thursday came and we was loading moms trike on a trailer . He was hurting still I said put your bike on the trailer . He said f that this is your first run I'm riding with you .and he did .

My favorite memory of JD has been many years ago. For Christmas JD and Pat handed me a Christmas present, JD giggling the whole time I was opening it. As I opened these letters B R O N O C O! JD found the biggest letters he could find. Please note...I am a patriot fan. JD was so proud of this. Inside the box with Bronoco on it was a patriot blanket that I still use and love to this day! JD was a gentle giant that I was so blessed to meet! He will forever hold a special spot in my heart! Ride like no ones watching JD! One day we will meet again! RIP JD!
