George and I dated for 21/2 years. He introduced me to ice fishing and camping. I introduced him to Hawaii. A hui hou, George!

My deepest condolences to George's family and friends. George was a friend of my mother's, and he and I got into the habit of sending funny cards to each other. He loved a good pun! I am so sorry to learn of his passing, what a loss to the world.

I first met George in the late sixties when he worked at Patty Jewett during the summer break. My favorite memory of him was during the teacher strike of 1974 George was the only teacher at Ivywild to go out. He picketed the school by himself and some of us from Palmer would go down to walk with him. A great guy and he will be missed.

I remember when George and I both taught at Ivywild school. Remember when he lent me his roto-tiller and helped me plant grass in my new home. I remember when we both changed the oil on our vehicles. Remember having a meal at his house with his first wife and then best man for the mother of his first son. I remember mostly only he and I only going to Happy Hour at the old Nemeth's-El Tejon. We had lots of laughs discussing kids, other teachers and laughing at ourselves. He was a truly a caring good man and teacher. Remember his quiet, subdued low voice laughter when he teased me.
