Obituary of Larry Eugene Fish
Larry Eugene Fish was born on July 17, 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida to George and Marjorie Fish. He was the youngest of three children. From an early age Larry had an over the top sense of humor, and it was often said that his antics usually got him in some sort of trouble. Larry served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1972-1974 to Washington State. His mission to Washington is where he would first meet Susan Scott. After a short, one year courtship, they married in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 4, 1975. Larry pursued a career in the HVAC industry that would take his family to Utah and California. In 1985 they moved to Colorado Springs where Larry would be a central figure and co-founder in Holbrook Service, a commercial and industrial HVAC business. Larry ran and expanded Holbrook Service with a lot of hard physical labor, commitment, and heart for over forty years. He was instrumental in the development of Holbrook Service into becoming a successful company. Colorado Springs would be Larry and Susan's lasting home. Larry loved fast cars, motorcycles, rock n' roll, and fried chicken, but he was so much more than these simple pleasures. Larry was an extremely hard worker, often to the detriment of his physical body, but he heedfully provided for his wife and seven children. Much like his stature, Larry had a larger than life personality. Anyone that knew him knew he was the life of the party. He always had a story and a joke, but was also extremely tenderhearted and generous. Larry was a friend to everyone, a loving father and a loyal husband. Larry's faith and testimony were paramount in his life. He was eager to serve others in his callings throughout the church and found great joy in helping those less fortunate than himself. He was a man of faith that believed in obedience to God. His greatest prides were his family and grandchildren that loved to climb all over him. Larry passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2020 after being diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer in October 2019.He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Susan Fish; his seven children, Justin and Josie Fish, Julian and Emily West, Janson and Yvette Fish, Molly Fish, Casey and Christine Fish, Adam and Annie Fish, Cammi Fish; his favorite four-legged child, Biff; sixteen grandchildren, with one on the way; his sister, Linda Fish Anderson, and his brother, Wayne and Debbie Fish.
