47 years ago I met Fred while I was dating my husband and we attended the Friends Church. That became my home church as well as my husband and we had many great memories and times with Fred and Shirley. Fred was always very upbeat very knowledgeable willing to listen if you needed a listening ear and was always willing to help someone that needed help. He made a big impression on my life and I will always remember his confidence in me cheering me on to be on committees Etc. I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye Fred. I will see you soon love you and miss you so. Your friend Donna Jean

I am proud to call this kind, generous, fun loving man my Dad! I never doubted that he loved me. Thank you Dad for the example you were to me and to my family. I know you were greeted by Jesus with "Well done good and faithful servant". Heaven is lucky to have you but you will be greatly missed. XOXO

Our family has experience some very heart breaking stuff the last two months, we lost our amazing Bapa Fred last week. He was such a sweet man with the most amazing faith in God, love for his family and friends, and the best sense of humor. Grandpa Fred we miss you so very much, we were praying for a little more time with you but Jesus wanted you home and we know that is the best place. We hold all of the fun memories of you with us Grandpa. From funny goat jokes, camping, boating, fishing, playing cards, and even seeing you being pulled behind a boat on a tube at 84 years old! He was such an amazing man and we are so glad to have called him our Grandpa. I know he's cracking jokes and handing out smarties in Heaven. Love you Bapa Fred you'll forever be in our hearts!

Uncle Fred, you were always one who was easy to talk to! You and Aunt Shirley were always there for my mom and our family! I loved the family reunions at Quaker Ridge, and visiting when Grandma was still alive. With my husband's illness, I am unable to travel to Colorado for your funeral, but just know I will be with you in spirit. Love, prayers, and hugs to you and your family at this time. I am sure there will be a great reunion on the other side with family, friends and the open arms of Jesus! God bless you and your family!

I am going to miss Fred. I will miss his beautiful singing voice. I will miss his wit and jokes. I will miss his knowledge, wisdom, and leadership. I will miss his friendship and love. I greatly look forward to the day I will see him again in Heaven: singing, laughing, and loving in the presence of Jesus.

I always remember children flocking to Fred after church services. He had candy and a smile for them all. I also remember him taking his family to Fargo's after church. On occasion, I was privileged to be included. He was a dear man, and while heaven is one soul richer, he will be missed here until we see him later. Praise God! Kristie Adler Hawkins
