Obituary of Trent Lee Adams
Trent was born on May 12, 1977 in Raton, New Mexico. He attended grade school in Hoehne, Colorado growing up in a small farming community. Trent learned to drive a Willy's Jeep on his grandfather's farm near the Trinidad Airport. He developed a bit of a heavy foot but loved to drive all around the farm.Trent's family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1984. He attended Grant Elementary. Trent was involved in basketball, baseball and excelled in wrestling at Horace Mann Middle School. He attended Palmer High School and had narrowed his sports focus to baseball. Palmer's baseball team was very competitive throughout his high school years. As a young adult you could see Trent was developing into a person that was not a follower but a leader, a self-thinker and a problem solver. He loved to take on new things, study them to the fullest and attempt to come up with a better, simpler way of doing the job. Returning to Hoehne one spring day in 1995 to visit his grandparents, Trent talked his brother into letting him drive his pickup into town so they could check out the girls. Distracted by a low flying airplane at the Trinidad Airport, Trent rolled the vehicle. Trent and his brother were rushed to the hospital and Trent was later flown in to Colorado Springs where he was treated for a head injury. The summer following Trent's Junior year at Palmer High School, he began working for School District 11 maintenance department. He loved to socialize and make new friends, so he got to know all the Maintenance staff. Having a strong math background, Trent wanted to expand his interests so he enrolled in Pikes Peak Community College to take Accounting. Trent received his Associates Degree in Accounting in 1998 and immediately signed for a Payroll job at School District 11. He excelled at his job and his interests with numbers continued to grow. A year or so later Trent began to have seizures as a result of his head injury years before. They progressively became more frequent and in 2002 he had brain surgery. The seizures stopped, but he was left with a memory disability. Initially it devastated Trent, but he put on his positive hat and started rehab to fight through the problem and found ways to deal with this new challenge. At that point, he became even more positive, so much so he caused everyone around him to practice the same. Trent went back to work in the Accounting Department at District 11, but decided to sign for a job in Accounts Receivables to learn something new. He worked there managing large accounts. Once he felt like he had learned that job, he signed for a job in Accounts Payable. Trent excelled at all the jobs he tried. With his epilepsy issues, stress began to enter his life so he applied for a disability retirement through PERA.Trent loved to work with numbers, so he took a currency trading course in Castle Rock, Colorado. He completed the Professional Forex Trader Course, started trading and loved it, eventually developing success.Wanting to make more friends and fit in to society, Trent joined the Pikes Peak Poker Club. Over a span of about eight years, he developed many friendships and spent a lot of time trying to earn a seat at the Annual Las Vegas Poker Tournament.Trent left this life on April 14, 2020 at his parents home in Colorado Springs. Trent was 42 years old. He is survived by his parents, Gary and Diane Adams; and his brother, Clint (Lacie). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins too numerous to mention. If you were to ask Trent what he liked the most in life, he would have answered that he loved to get to know and make friends. He also loved to solve problems to make life easier, not only for himself but for everyone around him. His desire to make things better and to be positive was contagious to everyone in his life. The recent Coronavirus restrictions did not set well with his social addictions to keep in touch with his friends. He had a tough time dealing with those confinements.Trent's Funeral Mass will be scheduled at a later date due to the current Coronavirus restrictions the country is under.
