Diane, Gary, Clint and Lacie; our deepest condolences to you all. The last time we saw Trent was when we were preparing to move out of the Moonlight house in 2011. Saturday, April 18th, 2020 In Memory of Trent Lee Adams I write this with a heavy heart, flooded with emotions, tears in my eyes, a golf ball in my throat, and an emptiness in my heart. The day Trent left this world a piece of me left with him. I meet Trent in 1999 while at Jeremy's parents' house. While sitting on the couch next to him, he leaned over and kissed me and from that moment on we were inseparable. Trent was my first true love. Trent had a zest for life, a smile that was contagious, and a heart full of love and kindness. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him would say he was pleasant, kind, respectful, and had a sweet presence/spirit/soul. Trent marched to the beat of his own drum. Trent looked at the world differently than most, a trait of his I so admired. He would do and say things only Trent could get away with. He had a corky, charismatic sense of humor, was funny, and kept me laughing and smiling. Trent was a very positive and optimistic person, something that greatly attracted me to him and wished I could have emulated more. He had this island like vibe to him. He was easy going, laid back, carefree, and never got overly excited about things. He was my calm. I can hear him say, "No worries mon"! Trent loved listening to Jamaican music, county classics, and of course Too $hort (which I grew to love). He used to sing to me in the car as we just drove around town. I would watch him in awe as he sang to me with such sincerity. Although he was out of tune, I love it. Trent enjoyed so many of the simple things in life like, having dinners at his brother's house (Lacie is one of the best cooks I knew), spending time with his parents (Gary and Diane), visiting with my mom or dad, hanging out with friends, going to piano bars, hosting BBQ's, attending county concerts, going to Loonees Comedy Corner, playing cards, singing along to karaoke, sneaking into movies (sorry Gary and Diane), gambling in Cripple Creek, bike rides in our neighborhood, hiking the incline in Manitou, strolling through Garden of the Gods (heading to one of our favorite make out spots), playing bingo with his parents and another time with my maternal grandparents, playing putt putt golf (which he never let me win), playing pool, bowling, and going to sporting events (particularly the Colorado Rockies with his family). He loved going on mini getaways to the town of Fraser, Glenwood Springs, and Breckenridge, just to explore the town or ride snowmobiles and go snow tubing down the side of a mountain. Although Trent enjoyed the simple things in life, he was also a risk taker and was always willing to try new things. Trent was one of the most adventurous people I knew. Trent did not let his brain surgery in 2002 or challenges hold him back and get in his way. He was unstoppable. In 2004, Trent and I took a cruise with my sister Nicole and her boyfriend at the time. During this cruise, Trent developed a love for travel. We went on many vacations together with family and friends. We traveled to the Islands (once with my sister and her boyfriend at the time, another with my dad and family, and another with my sisters and our friends), New York (with Tanya and Todd), Las Vegas (with Tiffany and Jarrod), ended up in New York accidentally (with my dad and family), and Florida (with my dad and family). Trent's favorite by far was, "The Islands". We made many beautiful and unforgettable memories together during our travels to the Islands from; jet skiing, snorkeling, AVTing, zip lining, touring exotic rainforests with majestic waterfalls, swimming with the dolphins, swimming with the stingray (which Tina reminded me gave him a hickey - poor guy), touring the backcountry with locals, and just enjoying time together while watching the sunset. I experienced many firsts with Trent (some of which I will not mention and only Trent knows). Trent was a big kid who loved watching T.V. shows such as South Park, the Simpsons, and Family Guy. On the other hand, Trent was a deep thinker, a great debater, a dreamer, an out of the box thinker, an innovationist, a handy man (thankfully), eager to learn new things, good with numbers and spreadsheets, good on the computer, and understood the stock market like no one I knew. He would often watch, Mad Money with host Jim Cramer, something that he loved watching but was beyond my comprehension. He had a professional side to him. He worked in accounting for School District 11 for as long as I knew him and was a dedicated worker. I remember he showed me how to tie a tie, which sadly I never caught on to. We were a team. Trent would always let me make his lunches and pick out his clothes for work, something that became part of my routine. I always included a Mt. Dew, chips, and a candy in his lunch as he had a sweet tooth. After a hard day at work, he would come home and head straight for the freezer to pull out a Reese's or Hershey's bar, which oddly I never understood until I tried it and surprisingly really liked. Some of his favorite places to eat were, Olive Garden, Fargo's Pizza, and Leon Gessi's Pizza, I think it was the Italian in him. But more than anything he loved his mom's cooking and thankfully she would always send us home with some. He did also enjoy getting together with friends at, Old C's, T.G.I. Friday's, Red Robin, and Red Lobster. But our favorite was La'au's Taco Shop, a hidden gem in downtown Colorado Springs that we unexpectedly came across while driving around. Several years after knowing Trent, we decided it was time we move in together. I moved out of my condo that my twin sister Tiffany and I had and decided to take a leap of faith and move in with Trent, into his Victorian townhome. I had two cats (Maddie and Midnight) and he had two cats (Daisy and Duke - beat you can guess you picked out their names, that's right, good ole Trent - always so creative), thankfully they got along. Trent was not much of the romantic type but he always made me feel special. He took me to my high school prom (in which Lacie did my hair) and we had a blast! On January 1st, 2006, Trent took me to, The Sunbird. There he got down on one knee and proposed to me with a bouquet of roses, a Precious Moment "Say I Do" engagement figurine, and a princess cut diamond ring. Of course I said, "YES"! We had planned a 2007 wedding, which my mom happily announced in the Gazette. We went to different venues (The Cliff House, Glen Eyrie Castle, and Blue Skies Inn) with my mom just to name a few. I also went wedding dress shopping with my mom. Trent and I had a lot of happy memories and 13 wonderful years together but sadly we never married as our paths went in opposite directions. By 2012, we agreed to go our separate ways. My sisters, Nicole and Tiffany remained in contact with Trent several years thereafter but as you know lives change and people grow distant. Crazily enough, although we lived in the same area, I only saw Trent on 2 separate occasions after that, both which were pleasant. Trent was my first love, the man I thought I was going to marry and grow old with but sadly things change. Trent will forever hold a very near and dear place in my heart. I will never forget him and the way he used to smile. He was a bright light for so many. He was truly my very best friend. I could lean on him and I trusted him. I will forever cherish the memories we made together now and forever. Trent you are a beautiful person and I am deeply sadden hear of your loss. I wish and pray life had worked out differently for you. I never stopped wishing and praying happiness for you. Still to this day, certain songs, smells, and locations remind me of you and no one can take that away from me. You taught me the true meaning of love and life and for that I will forever be grateful for. You brought so much fun, joy, and happiness into my life and have truly left an imprint on my heart as well as my family's hearts. I will never forget you, never have, and never will. You forever changed my life for the better. I will see you again one day in heaven. Until then, fly high with the angels Trent. Thank you for coming into my life. My deepest sympathy goes out to Gary, Diane, Clint, Lacie, and family. Trent was surrounded by the people he most loved and cared about - you all. Thank you for raising such an amazing man. I pray one day you find peace and comfort knowing that Trent is in a better place with our Lord and Savior. Trent would not want us to mourn his passing but rather celebrate his life, so here's to Trent (cheers with a Mt. Dew). I love you Trent! You will always and forever be in my heart. My hear breaks for the Adams family! I grew up with Trent from elementary all the way up into HS. He was always someone you could go to when you needed a laugh or someone just to talk to. As a friend/acquaintance of the Adams family, I met first Trent a couple of years ago at his parents house; he was always very congenial & friendly. My association with Trent's parents through Divine Redeemer Catholic Church has been a casual & joyful experience. Trent's parents, Gary & Diane, have been very active in DR Church activities including the Knights of Columbus. Gary & I became 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th degree Knights together which were memorable & wonderful moments in my faith life. Trent's parents are very thoughtful & dedicated people in all areas of community affairs. Undoubtedly, Trent must have come by his math & accounting skills from his dad who is currently the Financial Secretary in the DR Knights of Columbus. Trent's mom, Diane a wonderful lady, attends daily Mass @ DR & makes the best bunt cake I have ever eaten! In our recent relationship with the Adams family, we have grown to have great respect & love for them; we consider the entire Adams family as our close friends ; they are, indeed, model parents & devoted Catholics. Only a handful of you may know who I am but me and Trent dated for a short time a few years ago! But even though our time together was short it was still one of the best times! We just had different paths in life. I still considered him to be my friend but we had only stayed connected thru Facebook which unfortunately seems to be the way of life for most people today! However I am grateful to Gary and Diane for raising such a gentle kind man who were also kind to me when I visited their home with Trent! I know how much you loved him! I am deeply sorry for your loss! He used to take me for drives to see the stars at the Garden of the Gods! We would listen to music! And my most favorite memory is when he took me too his favorite elementary school with the best swings in the middle of the night and we would see who could swing the highest! We had fun! My deepest condolences to the Adams family! I was very blessed to know Trent for many years! We met at the Erin Inn and quickly became friends. I hosted karaoke & he liked to play pool and later on developed a love for poker. Even though karaoke wasn't really his thing, he would occasionally get on stage and sing...and surprisingly, he was pretty good. Trent was smart, funny and kind. Trent's services were held on May 2nd at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church and we were only allowed to have 10 people total present. His ashes are at St. Francis Columbarium and the site will be engraved soon. Please visit as often as you like. Thank you!

Reading your kind words reminded me of Trent... Their isn't a day that goes by that I don't remember him. And this time of year is hard now. Trent and I were supposed to hang out for my birthday which is April 23rd. I will never forget the phone call that day that I got from Clint. He's happy now. He's watching over us.
