Obituary of Geremy "Tyler" Mares

Born in Colorado Springs on January 13, 1976, Tyler spent his childhood and most of his adult life near Peyton, Colorado. He graduated from Peyton High School in 1994, then went on to Western State in Gunnison, Colorado, later transferring to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. It was there that he met Jami, who quickly became "his person". Jami and Tyler were married on June 15, 2002, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Tyler started his employment journey with Sherwin Williams in 1995. During his successful twenty-five-year career, Tyler received many prestigious recognitions and awards to include trips to Hawaii, Cancun, and most recently, Grand Cayman. He was a true salesman at heart.Tyler was a devoted and loving family man. He enjoyed being with his family and friends; BBQing, cooking, camping, and home improvements. Another passion of his was gardening.Almost anything that you could put in the ground, he could make it grow. Many afternoons, you could find him relaxing in his favorite recliner, watching football or the news.He leaves behind his wife of eighteen years, Jami Lee (Tucker) Mares; their two children, Alexander Lee (15) and Samantha Tyler (13);his mother, Jody (Wellsandt) Mares; brother, Todd Mares; and sister, Tia (Mares) Gregg. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, in-laws, loving friends and adopted families. He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Glen Mares.Tyler was a man of many words and stories, some factual, some not as factual. Despite his smirky remarks and stubbornness, there is actual evidence that he was a loving, giving, caring person. That evidence is in the deep sorrow and pain in our hearts that his family feels in his sudden passing. We will miss him so very much.An intimate viewing will be held for immediate family. A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00PM-4:00PM, on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 13779 Eastonville Road, Elbert, Colorado 80106.
