Tyler and I met back in 2015 at the infancy of a grand plan for growing Sherwin William's Uniflex coatings business in the Southwest. He and Cowboy spent a day in San Diego training me for the Uniflex systems, stoking a flame and unleashing an ambitious growth plan that Tyler and I had conceived mere days after meeting at this training. For those of us who knew him, Tyler was a very humble and selfless person. A real "Gentle Giant" who would give you the shirt off his back, and rarely take credit for his hard work on many of the complicated projects he and I were privileged to sell. His friendship was one out of a handful of rare friendships I've been blessed with in my 35 years in the commercial roofing industry. Tyler often spoke of his wife and children, regretting the time he had to be away from them on the road when we traveled in the Southwest. In spite of his physical hardships and being a diabetic, he would always show up professional and energetic. My skills and knowledge about roof coatings soared exponentially because of this man and his extensive knowledge of roof design. Since receiving the news of Tyler's passing, my son Anthony and I have been grieving the loss of his presence on earth. I'll miss all those conversations talking about projects, customers and current events, but also grateful for how he helped educate my son Anthony about interacting with professionals in the roofing industry. I am thankful for having known Tyler, and thankful for those years he and I were able to have fun doing what we both loved; Working with professional contractors and selling roof coatings. May Tyler Rest in Peace, and God's Comfort to his family. Mt. 5:4-5 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
