Obituary of Bishop Augustine "Gus" Robert Ahkiong

Augustine "Gus" Robert Ahkiong, 69, died August 30, 2020 surrounded by his wife and children in Colorado Springs, Colorado.He was born August 26, 1951 to Robert Patrick and Autasi (Tuipala) Ahkiong in Pago Pago, American Samoa.Gus was the Bishop of Sure Foundation Church Of God. His entire being was centered around Jesus. He loved Jesus more than anything! His mission in this life was to win souls for Christ and preach the Grace of God.�His is preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick Ah-Kiong and Antonio Tua'ato; and three sisters, Theresa Tausaga, Antonia Hemenway and Eveline Tua'ato.Gus is survived by his wife, Talalelei Ahkiong; seven children, Greta (Jefferson) Sofele, Grace Ahkiong, Elizabeth (Stanley) Filiaga, Gus Ahkiong, Jr., Alo (Junior) Fasavalu, Chelle (Mike) Hodo, and Christopher (Oli) Ahkiong; ten grandchildren;�three brothers, Taouli Ah-Kiong, Peter Tuitafananai, and Vernon Ah-Kiong; two sisters, Cecilia Mauga and Agnes Saelua; and many nieces and nephews.A private Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, September 18, 2020.
