I will always remember Uncle Gus back when cousin Greta was just a baby. He had a loud voice and you would know when they were visiting because my mom and her brother would laugh so loud enjoying each other's company. Another memorable moment was recently on our family reunion in Oahu, Hawaii. My husband Abie would buy Uncle Gus lots of poki (raw fish) and other pupus (appetizers) and he would make it look so scrumptious he made me want to eat some but I can't acquire the taste even if I am a born and raised local girl from Oahu. Uncle could scuff that stuff so quick poor aunty Lei had to get in there before it was all gone, lol! The last memory I had of Uncle Gus was always calling my mom to check on each other and comparing their illnesses but especially sharing and worshiping God! They were so on fire for the Lord until their last breath Uncle was heartbroken when he found out my mom passed so suddenly that he would call to send his love but wouldn't be able to speak. I could hear his cries on the other end of the call and he would hang up. I don't think Uncle Gus expected my mom to leave before him? R.I.L Uncle Gus
