Obituary of Jerry Wayne Allen

Surrounded by his family, Jerry Allen went to meet his loving Savior, Jesus Christ, in his beloved home on October 28, 2020, at the age of 81, after a year-long battle with cancer.Jerry was born to Floyd and Allene Allen in Dallas, Texas, on November 24, 1938. The oldest of three children, he learned the value of hard work from his father while living at a ranch near the Dallas area. A country boy at heart, Jerry enjoyed riding horses and the great outdoors.After graduating from Hillcrest High School in Dallas, he attended Arlington Junior College and the University of Southwestern Louisiana earning a degree in Petroleum Engineering. His special activities were centered around football and playing in the Junior Rose Bowl. After a stint in the Petroleum industry in Louisiana he moved back to Dallas and met his wife, Ingrid Lind, and together they enjoyed an exciting life of travel and sports. In 1977, they moved to Denver, Colorado where Jerry started his own business, Titan Energy. After a stint of seven years in Chanute, Kansas overseeing the company's oil leases, events took them to Colorado Springs, Colorado and a love affair for the Springs started that held on until Jerry's departure to the big pasture in the sky.Colorado Springs, his church and his varied friends and family became vitally important to Jerry. He always welcomed everyone into his home and you always became part of his family. Their special event in 2015 was a Viking Cruise on the Rhine River with special friends for their 50th anniversary. Over the years, Jerry and Ingrid welcomed three sons, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and multitudes of friends and extended family into their wonderful home. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Allene Allen. He leaves behind to treasure his memory his wife, Ingrid Allen; sons, Michael (Angelia), Scott (Teri), Christopher (Tami); along with his grandchildren, Taylor, Julie, Laura, Shelby, Brittany, Samantha, Riley, Jaxson, Blake and Sydney; five great-grandchildren, Kadence, Thea, Gemma, Sinclair, Lorenzo; sister, Sandy (Dan) Hagel; and brother Dennis (Lea) Allen.An example of a life well-lived, Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and friends and he will meet you at the pearly gates in Heaven! A Memorial Service will be held in the Summer of 2021.
