Obituary of Myron "Mick" Keith Jackson
Mick went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 15, 2020. A lifelong aviator, he made his final departure in this life surrounded by family and secure in the knowledge he was loved and deeply appreciated. Mick is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Beverly Jackson (ne Talley). She was the love of his life, and his co-pilot in every endeavor. Born in Denver, Colorado, Mick was proud to be the son of C.B. (Carle) and Myra Jackson. They engrained in him the value of family and the spirit of independence and resourcefulness. Those are qualities he passed on to his four children: Julie Ribordy (ne Jackson) now of Altha, Florida; Jennie Lathrop (ne Jackson) now of Derby, Kansas; Russell Jackson now of Warrensburg, Missouri; and Joanna Jackson who preceded Mick in death. A loving brother, Mick was also preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen, in 1934; and his brother, Dick, in 2013. Mick is survived by 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom miss him and are grateful for his example of how life is meant to be lived.Mick spent most of his school years in Cheyenne, Wyoming, but would graduate from Natrona County High School, Casper, Wyoming, in 1949. For one year he studied at Casper College. He learned to fly in 1950, then spent four years in the U.S. Air Force as a radio operator. Upon separation from the Air Force, Mick followed his Dad into the field of aviation as both a pilot and an aircraft mechanic. He flew for Marathon Oil Company for 35 years. Upon retirement, he did contract flying for several years. He was also an active member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.A man of tremendous faith, Mick was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Casper, Wyoming, for the more than two decades. He continued that active service at Timberline Baptist Church, Manitou Springs, Colorado, for several years immediately preceding his death.
