Obituary of Rosa "Pauline" Lopez

Rosa Pauline Lopez, 90, of La Junta, Colorado passed away on January 1, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born Rosa Pauline on August 30, 1930 in Cheraw, Colorado to Mary Lois and Paul Sosa, but soon became known as Pauline. At age seven, Pauline became part of Edward and Cora Garcia's family and formed enduring bonds with new parents and siblings. Pauline married Christopher "Kit" Lopez on June 4, 1951 and remained married for sixty-nine years. She raised four children and worked as a library aid at the Woodruff Memorial Library until retiring in 1986. A lifelong resident of La Junta, she served her community through many volunteer groups and activities with Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish. She will be dearly missed by all.��Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Paul Sosa; sisters, Rosie Garcia, Carrie Lucero, Sally Tafoya, Susie Valentine, and Elsie Laca; brothers, Henry Garcia and Leo Sosa; daughter, Cindy Lopez; and grandson, Reyne Stokes Lopez.She is survived by her husband, Christopher "Kit" Lopez; sisters, JoAnne Abeyta, Rita McDade, Diane Martinez, and Lilly Aragon; brother, James Garcia; children, Steven (Paula) Lopez, Sandra (Ed) Gravley, and J. Lake Lopez; grandchildren, Michael (Jenny) Lopez, Matthew Lopez, Hunter (Meg) Gravley, Hayden Anne (Kevin) Clark, and Hollan Gravley; and great-grandchildren, Colton, Willa, Olaf, Galena, Kinley, and Zoey.��The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caring staff at Brookdale Skyline Assisted Living and Pauline's many friends and extended family members.
