Obituary of Sylvia Joyce Carter

Sylvia Joyce Carter, 80, died January 5, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born November 14, 1940 to Willie B. and Lulu Mae (Grantham) Jenkins in Donalsonville, Georgia.Sylvia was a longtime member of Circle Drive Baptist Church, now known as Redemption Hill Church.She was a personnel clerk for the U.S. Civil Service. Sylvia was an avid gardener and she loved to travel. She loved her family and friends, and serving the community through the Senior Center and Meals on Wheels. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Jonica Brunner; and her parents, Willie and Lulu Jenkins.Sylvia is survived by her husband, Richard Carter of Colorado Springs; son, Aaron (Jeannette) Carter; daughter, Pamela (William) Guindon; eleven grandchildren, Hannah, Simon, Jordan, Kamryn, and Morgan Carter, Nathan and Benjamin Guindon, Rachel Guindon Wardwell, and Sarah, David, and Rebecca Brunner; four great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Delaney, Zayn, and Kellen; and her sister, Mary Smith.A private Visitation will be held from 3:00PM-5:00PM, Thursday, January 14, 2021.A private Funeral Service will be held at 9:30AM, Friday, January 15, 2021. The service will be streamed live.
