Obituary of Col Blaine Warren Hyten, USAF,
No written words can possibly do justice to the man�Colonel Blaine Hyten�was or the life he lived.Blaine Warren Hyten,�69,�of Colorado Springs,�was received by the Lord on�January 13, 2021�surrounded by family�after a long battle with ALS.�He was born April 21, 1951 to�Colonel�Warren and Virginia Hyten in Fort Benning, Georgia. Blaine is survived by his loving wife�and best friend, Marcea;�four children�and�their�spouses,�Christie, Jimmy�(Jill), Andy (Sheryl), and�Rebecca�(James);�and�eight�grandchildren, Andrew, Luke, James,�Alexander, Adam, Sophia, Crew,�and Tyler.�Blaine is also survived by�three�brothers,�Cloyd, Randy, and�Todd.�He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Virginia.Blaine was a proud graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point,�class of 1974.�He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1974�to 1981 and�interservice transferred to the Air Force in 1981. He served until 2001.�Blaine fulfilled his professional dreams of joining the Air Force and becoming an honored pilot.�In addition to the�T-37,�T-38, C-130, and training airplanes,�he loved to fly�helicopters�like�the�Cobra,�Huey,�and�CH-3�(Jolly Green Giant).�Before taking over air space, he conquered the ground in driving tanks and commanded a platoon as a�2LT.�Blaine�retired�having earned the rank of Colonel�and�countless, well-deserved medals. His military service took him�and his family�to�places all over the country and Europe.From his military retirement in 2001 until 2018, Blaine worked at NORTHCOM at Peterson Air Force Base.Even as a dedicated�patriot, God and family always came first. His faith and unconditional love for his wife,�Marcea,�was endless and unwavering�until his last breath. They were joined in�holy matrimony for forty-six�years.�Blaine loved life,�his family,�his gun collection, and�powdered donuts!�He�was a fighter to the very end.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to�the�wonderful team of caregivers�who�helped care for Blaine over the�last few years.�A private Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, January 20, 2021. The service will be streamed live. The link to watch the Funeral is located on Blaine's Tribute Wall on The Springs Funeral Services website. Attendees will be capped at 50 people and masks/facial coverings are required.A private Graveside Service will be held at 1:00PM, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925. Attendees will be capped at 25 people and masks/facial coverings are required.
