Obituary of MAJ Paul Arthur Ogle,, U.S. Army, Jr.
Paul Ogle, age 75, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 15, 2021 at his ranch in Hanover, Colorado. He was born to Paul Arthur and Mary Lee Ogle in Pasadena, Texas and was raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He married Karen Belinda Neph on March 29, 1968. Paul served in the United States Army for twenty-one years in the field of Air Defense Artillery, retiring with the rank of Major. During that time, he attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma earning a Bachelor's of Business degree in 1974 and earned a Master's of Science in Systems Management from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1980. After retiring from the Army in 1988, Paul worked as a project manager until he retired from Lockheed Martin in 2007.Since he was a little boy, Paul had dreamed of owning a big piece of land. He found that land in Hanover. He built a two-story barn, helped several friends build their homes, and then his own home where he and Karen lived for twenty-nine years. He enjoyed woodworking, vegetable gardening and giving away the bounty of his gardens.Paul served as an EMT/Firefighter for Hanover Volunteer Fire Department for six years and continued as a firefighter for another twenty years. During these years he helped form the Hanover Fire Protection District and served on its Board of Directors for twenty-four years.Paul is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his sons, Mark Ogle of Phoenix, Arizona and Robert Ogle of Houston, Texas. Also surviving Paul are his brother, Bill (Julie) Ogle of Key West, Florida; and his sister, Susan Ogle of Dallas, Texas.Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Saturday, March 6, 2021, Hanover Fire Protection District, 13325 Old Pueblo Road, Fountain, Colorado 80817. The service will be live-streamed on the Hanover Fire Department Facebook page as well.
