Oh, how I loved Mrs. Friesth! She was my eighth grade English teacher at Janitell in the early 80's, and I worked with her on the yearbook as well. Her high expectations had a significant impact on my writing ability, as I knew she would never accept anything but my best. Mrs. Friesth was known for being a "hard teacher", and I have to admit I was more than a little intimidated when I landed in her classroom. I realized quickly that I would learn much in her class due to her high expectations, and I sought out the opportunity to continue to learn from her on the yearbook staff. I loved her fiery spirit and have vivid memories of her kicking a trash can once when she was frustrated. Mrs. Friesth would often take a contact out of a her eye, place it on her tongue to remoisten, and pop in right back in as she carried on a conversation. To her family and those who love her, please accept my sincere condolences. I'm grateful to have learned from her. Stacey (Pyle) Franklin

I remember Judy at all of her children's events, both her students and her own, with her camera in hand. Oh the wonderful photographs! She became the Godmother of my oldest son who became much like her. She was a woman of God, an avid reader and loved her family. She did not deserve her last years on earth, but fought fiercely, so she could watch her family grow. She loved her children Eric and Laurie, their spouses and her darling grand children. Heaven got an angel! There are many there waiting for her, including her sister, her mother, my parents and many others. Blessings to her family!
