Joe was a a man that got it right. He was a caring , thoughtful, and supportive. His presence was comforting. We would sit and talk in his office about many different things. His family was his everything, and he made that clear. Joe always knew when you needed some support. As we spent the summer furloughed from work he and I would call each other , sharing our hobbies, pass times, and his love of making pasta and bread. Joe, your values and work ethic have inspired me, your respect for your staff, and customers came from the heart, we lost a great man and he will be genuinely missed. I would like to thank his family for sharing him with me and and everyone else at work. Your legacy will not be forgotten.

Joe will always hold a special place in my heart. He showed us what it means to be a good leader, family man and kind human on a daily basis. His sarcasm and humor made us enjoy being at work a little more and I will miss him every day. My prayers are with the family for comfort during this time.

Joe was easily the best boss I've ever had. He was funny and caring and really just a great leader who brought out incredible qualities from his team. He often stopped at my desk or pulled me into his office to talk and laugh with me and I can't express how much I miss that daily interaction that never failed to put a smile on my face. Even when I moved and began to work remotely, he would call me on teams to check in and make me laugh and get me out of whatever stress-related funk I was in. Thank you to his family for sharing him with us, he was an incredible man and I miss him every day.

He will be missed here at Numotion. I will always remember his booming voice and laughter. He and I often laughed about the antics of President Trump. Rest in the arms of God my Friend. He was one of the Good Guys. My heartfelt Sympathy to his Family Cynthia Williams

I worked with Joe through the first years of my career and he opened his home to me as a young guy with no family in the cities we had moved to for work. Coudersport, Colorado Springs, Philadelphia. I basically followed Joe and his family around the country for close to a decade. They always made me feel welcome and their hospitality and support made me feel like I had a family when I was so far away from mine. I loved his stories from the military and athletic events he had attended in Cleveland. To this day I think I tell the story how Joe was in attendance for ‘The Shot' when Michael Jordan hit the game winner over the Cav's Craig Ehlo in Cleveland, game 5 in the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs at least once a month to someone. I had just told the story a few hours before I found out he had passed away. Joe had no idea how impactful the example he set with his strong moral compass and advice he gave me as a co-worker and friend have been through my life. Well, he probably did know. I am thankful I took notice and listened. I don't know I ever properly thanked Joe for everything he did for me. I have never forgotten and feel a deep gratitude I knew Joe Russ. I'll catch you down the road, my man. You were one of the good ones. -Brett Johnson

My kind of guy! Joe and I instantly connected and shared laughs on a daily basis. I always wondered who visited whose office the most. Hmmm! I think I visited his. So often someone would come to close his door because we were both so loud, of course, we laughed again. He was my partner on the daily grind. Always knew I could trust him with any conversation on any subject. He made my job and responsibilities easier by being a great listener. Thank you, Joe, I do miss you so much.

I had the pleasure of working with Joe at Numotion for nearly three years, and I always enjoyed hearing his stories, about his dedication to those who needed assistance and his warm humor. He was the first one to say hello and how are you and continually listened to his colleagues, who were his work family. Rest in Peace Joe, you will always be missed.

Such a kind and compassionate heart is really hard to find in this world, and he had that like no other. I remember when you got a hug from Joe it was like a big old teddy bear wrapping his arms around you. And don't get in the way of him and his coffee! I am extremely sorry for your loss as well as ours at Numotion. He will be forever in our minds and hearts. When my husband was sick and in the hospital, he was there to visit and send good wishes. If there is one thing that Joe has taught me, it's to be grateful for each and every day. It's a gift and needs to be cherished above anything else. I also know that his family was the most important thing to him and I am so sorry that you've lost him so soon. He was one of a kind, that's for sure. There is nothing I can say that can bring any sense to this but just know that he made a difference in so many people's lives and I am so blessed to have known him.

You took time to listen and conversate no matter what the subject (even if it was sports talk, fishing or family) You will always be remembered as our fearless leader at Numotion. I am devastated to hear about Joe's passing. I worked in the office he managed for NUmotion and he was a breathe of fresh air. Everyone loved him. He was such a kind person which helped make him a great boss. He and I would talk about the east coast as I was from Pittsburgh, which is just couple hours from where he came from in Ohio. He reminded me of east coast values...be hard working, be kind, and be fair. When I was stressed or upset...or just tired, he would call me into his office just to talk. He'd give me an ear to talk to and he reminded me family is everything. My father had a stroke a couple years ago and my parents really needed me back home in Pittsburgh...and he told me although I would be missed, if I could go back home to care for my family, I should because family is more important than anything. I weighed his advice heavily, decided he was right, and moved back home to take care of my parents. I don't think I would have decided to do that if it weren't for his talks...because he reminded me what I needed to be reminded of...that being there for your family is the best thing you can ever do for them. I give my deepest condolences to his wife and his children. Although I never met his family, I know his wife and children were his world...he talked about them all the time. Mrs Russ, I am so so so sorry for your loss. Your husband will be sorely missed. Sending you my thoughts and my prayers at this very difficult time.
