Christopher "Chris" David Marchand, beloved husband and dad, passed away on March 29, 2021 in Edwards, Colorado at the age of 37.He was born on June 28, 1983 in Colorado Springs, Colorado while his family was stationed there with the Army. He lived and moved around both the United States and Germany during his childhood, and graduated from Potomac Senior High School in Dumfries, Virginia in 2001.Ever the lifelong learner, Chris started his college career at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Religion/Youth Ministry in 2005. He went on to complete his Master of Arts in Religion/Church Ministry, Master of Religious Education, and Master of Divinity at Liberty. Chris was completing the second year of his PhD in Instructional Design and Technology, also from Liberty.Chris's background in church ministry, education, and Christian publishing allowed him to impact so many with his abilities to preach, teach, and lead with passion, wit, and humor. He was honored to be serving as the Vice President of Purposeful Design Publications with Association of Christian Schools International in Colorado Springs.Chris and Tricia met as camp counselors in Ohio and were married for sixteen beautiful years. One of the highlights of their life together was their trip to Oahu a few years ago, where they climbed a volcanic crater, hiked to a waterfall and snorkeled with sea turtles. He loved his wife and daughters fiercely, always striving for excellence in whatever he pursued so he could provide for them. He was so proud of Norah as she advanced through the belts in martial arts, and he loved cuddling with Evy while watching Disney movies together. Most of all, he loved Jesus. After finding out her dad was in Heaven, his oldest daughter said, "I know God doesn't have favorites but I bet Dad is one of His because of how much Dad loved Him."Chris had an eclectic mix of hobbies and interests including Star Wars, Hamilton, cooking, shooting and tactical gear. Chris had the unique ability to quip a movie quote at just the right moment. His knack for providing both wisdom and humor will be missed by so many.He is survived by his wife, Tricia; daughters, Norah and Evelyn "Evy"; his parents, Eugene Paul, Jr. and Margaret Louise Marchand; his brother, Eugene Paul Marchand, III; and his in-laws, Robert and Alicia Ruggles.Memorial Service, 10:00AM, Saturday, April 10, 2021, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
