Obituary of Joan Lorraine Miller

Joan L. Miller, age 90, formerly of Oceanside, California, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born on January 12, 1931 to Walter Strack and Doris Strack Dodd and grew up in Fairview, New Jersey. Joan attended Camden High School, graduating in 1949, and then attended the University of Pennsylvania Dental Assistant School, graduating in 1952. Joan met her husband Bob on her first ski trip ever. They spent fifty-eight wonderful years together enjoying Bob's love of travel, skiing, and adventure. Joan's true love for animals was shown in her volunteer work for animal shelters and in being a puppy raiser for International Guiding Eyes in Sylmar, California. Joan and Bob both enjoyed being ski hosts at Mammoth Mountain after Bob retired. They were also wonderful parents, giving their children every possible opportunity they could, always encouraging them to live life to the fullest. Their steadfast love and support will truly be missed.Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" F. Miller, Sr. (2016).
