Joan and Allison had the most wonderful day at Manitou Lake which is about an hour up in the mountains from Colorado Springs. We walked around the entire lake and she couldn't believe she could make it. She was 87! She said it was the best day she'd had since Pop went to Heaven.

Bob's 90th birthday (and Joan's 83rd) celebrated on the Hornblower in the San Diego Harbor, the same harbor that as a very young man took his escort carrier, the Copahee CVE 12, out to sea - destination: the South Pacific in the middle of WWII. The Greatest Generation.

Our last picture all together was thankfully taken at Norte's down in Carlsbad, CA in April 2016. Many a margarita, Mexican coffee, and various assorted cocktails and food were consumed there, and a lot of great memories were made in the sun. Joan, Kevin, Allison and Bob.

Christmas with Allison and Joan at Kevin & Allison's home in Colorado Springs. Joan moved in 2019 to be closer to us as she was almost 90. Although her time in CO was short, we know she was grateful to be with us in such a beautiful place, with mountains, deer, snow and incredible skies ~ a feast for the eyes and the heart.

Many dear friends were made at Vista Capri in Oceanside where they lived. Bob and Joan were incredibly blessed with many, many amazing neighbors (too many to list!!) who had lots of fun gatherings. It was a unique and wonderful place for them to be. These many friends were there in the good times and the bad, and we'll never forget that. Special thanks to Brenda and Roger for all the doggie care and love they gave Mandi.

A real treasure of our family, Aunt Betty, who was married to Bob's late brother Bill. This was her 80th birthday party in FL. Megan and Allison were able to surprise her as well! Lots of great times were spent in Florida over the years with the Miller clan.

2 more amazing lifetime friends were made in Mammoth, Bob and Helen Schulz. Many trips were made together in CA, and Bob and Bob made many ski trips to Europe together as well! I think they may have gone to a few bars together over there.

1994 Christmas in Yardley, PA at cousin Bobbie's house with Aunt Barbara (Bobbie's mom). Joan lived with Barbara, Joe and Bobbie for some time in Fairview. Joan was always so grateful that Barbara let her live with them as she started working as a young woman before she met Bob.

Some of their happiest moments were at Mammoth Mountain, where they lived full time for a number of years after moving from Westlake Village. After the BIG earthquake, they finally relocated to a bigger house in Oceanside, CA. They always missed it though.

Dogs, dogs, everywhere are dogs! Shadow, Kaiser and Stiegl (named after an Austrian beer of course!) in Mammoth, CA. You should have seen the madness with these 3 dogs in their tiny little condo, but they all loved it so!

Joan was a puppy raiser for International Guiding Eyes (now Guide Dogs of America). She hosted a number of puppies for years, before they went off for their formal training to become guide dogs. This was her absolute favorite, Kaiser. An amazing dog for sure!

Our families spent so many wonderful times together throughout many, many years. This was in 1980 at Mammoth Mountain, CA where Bob and Joan had a small condo.

Bob caught the Europe ski bug. He just couldn't get enough of it. Here they are in Zermatt, Switzerland where the REAL Matterhorn is. Of course we never skipped that ride at Disneyland either.

After moving to CA, Allison and Robert spent many summers at Rancho Oso Summer camp learning to ride. It was an AMAZING camp and we felt so very lucky! Even Mom and Dad learned to "saddle up" there too!
