Martin L. Felder, the youngest of nine children, was born to the proud parents of the late Reverend John Felder, Sr. and Gladys Felder in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on April 17, 1968.Martin attended Patrick Henry Elementary, Irving Junior High School, and he graduated from Mitchell High School in 1987. Martin was an exceptional basketball player at Mitchell High School where his picture and his high school jersey #21 remain displayed, his basketball team won several H.S. championships.Martin accepted Christ at the age of 10 and he grew to love the Lord through the example of his loving parents who reared him in the ways of God. At the age of 25 years old, he was ordained as a Deacon at Independent Missionary Baptist Church by his father. After several years of dedicated service, Deacon Felder moved his family to Columbus, Ohio where he began faithful service at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor H.J. Scott. Martin was a corrections officer at the Ohio prison system for ten years. It was during his season at Galilee MBC where Deacon Martin Felder experienced growth and maturity in the word of God and preached his trial sermon. After six years of spiritual preparation, Deacon Martin Felder answered the call to return to Colorado Springs to serve under his father at Independent Missionary Baptist Church where he began his ascension in ministry as Associate Minister; he was then named Assistant Pastor. He continued work at Juvenile Corrections Center in Denver, Colorado. Upon Pastor John H. Felder, Sr. retiring from Pastorship in 2009, Martin Felder was named successor to become the pastor of Independent Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully served for ten years. On March 31, 2019, Pastor Martin Felder answered the call and was named Senior Pastor of St. John's Baptist Church where he desired to continue in God's service. God blessed Pastor Felder with twenty-nine years of marriage to Lady Teresa Felder, they loved being around each other and always supported one another.
