Obituary of SFC Robert Daniel Massie,, U.S. Army, Jr.

Robert Daniel Massie, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois,� passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021. He died at Rose Memorial Hospital.He was born on July 8, 1962 to Robert Daniel Massie, Sr. and Phyllis Elaine Marshall in Chicago, Illinois.Robert went to high school at Lindbloom Tech and graduated in 1980.�He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, then went to Colorado Technical University after his twenty-three years of military service. Robert had an exemplary service life; he received a Good Conduct Medal, a pistol sharpshooter badge, a rifle expert badge, and a Letter�of Appreciation just to name a few. He was a Machine Gunner, was in the 66th maintenance battalion in Germany, the 2nd battalion, 10th cavalry, the 75th support battalion, the 22nd support command, and was in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert�Storm.�He is preceded in death by mother, Phyllis Elaine Marshall; his father, Robert Daniel Massie Sr.; his grandmother, Mary C. Galinski; his grandfather, David Galinski; and cousin, Ingrid.�Robert is survived by his brothers, Anthony Massie, who believes his brother to be the best thing since sliced bread, and Zeke Massie; his daughters, Elora Vian Massie and Dana Johnson; his son, Rick Johnson; his stepmom, Pam Rogers; his stepdad, Andy Rogers; and his great friend, Roosevet Watkins. There are his cousins, Janeice, Ena, Tasha, Leslie, and Keggie; and his aunt, Gwen, who all love the hell out of him. And to his numerous friends whose hearts are broken, he'll miss you too.
