I remember working with Rob from when he first came to the GMF. He was a kind man who put others before himself. Crystal was just a little toddler. My heart goes out to Rob's family. Rest in your Creator's arms and enjoy Jazz on Heavenly plains, my friend.

Rob and I went to Stuyvesant High School together. He always made me laugh and we had a special bond. He always would make arrangements to meet whenever he was on the east side. As a matter of fact, he and I and Alice, another classmate just recently had lunch in Tampa Florida when he was visiting his mom, brother and sister in Fort Lauderdale. His sister drove with him 4 hours to visit her son in Tampa. I am so saddened by this news. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to see him one last time. I don't know what happened, but he seems so fit. We never know what plan God has for us. Please let me know if the arrangements will be virtual oh, I would love to attend. My name is Katrina Williams and I can be reached at 973 393-5639. My condolences and prayers to the family. Rob I love you and I will never forget you. Thank you for the laughs and the friendship.

To the family of Rob I offer my condolences. I am relatively new to the USPS with just around 6 years. From my first encounter with Rob at two months, Rob always displayed genuine concern for all postal workers. I will sorely miss his infectious laugh, his willingness and desire to educate workers on postal/CBA policy and his genuinely good nature.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Preston family. Rob was an excellent union president and foremost a friend . He was always there to talk to when you had a problem. When Rob and I went to Denver for a court case, he went prepared and after a few days we had what I considered a win. He was as good outside the office as in. I knew him for the 20 years I was there and I thought he would just go on forever. He loved what he did and he was an upstanding guy. He will be sorely missed by all that he came upon. we'll meet again some day Rob.

When my husband and I moved to Colorado Springs in 1997 we were fortunate to have Rob and Dee as our neighbors. They welcomed us into their home and hearts as if we were family. You could always count on a warm smile from Rob when you saw him and that he genuinely cared for you. He was an accomplished man but one who never boasted. He set an amazing example for all those around him. My husband and I were so fortunate that Rob was part of our lives. We send our love to Dee, Crystal, Randy, Nia, Joe, and Joseph , Beth and Peter

I met Rob at the APWU National President's Conference about 8 years ago. I called him friend and brother as so many did. His quiet demeanor brought calm to contentious debate. He was a great mentor to many. Our hearts are heavy learning of his passing. Prayers especially for his family, both natural and the APWU family. Thank you for your service, Rob. May you rest in peace.

What a tragic moment in time. Rob was always so full of life which makes this unimaginable. He was such a joyest and given person, that he is probably still smiling. He worked hard for his membership and really enjoyed attending and hosting the APWU National Presidents' Conferences (NPC). I had the pleasure of working with him during the planning of and during last June's NPC. He focused on safety, our training, and showing a good time for the APWU leaders who attended. He loved when we came to Colorado Springs and always spoke highly of his family, members, and his city. He would make sure that we got the opportunity to enjoy it as much as he did. He allowed us to comingled with the Colorado State Convention as he was that thoughtful of a man. He will be missed at our National Presidents' Conferences and we'll miss his signature move at the end when he would walk up to the mike and call the meeting into adjournment, in his own classy way! Peace, love, and blessings to the family. My God give you all the strength needed during this hard time.

Rob was the best older brother anyone could ever have. He was a good listener, he always gave good advice and he was just so...smart. I am going to miss his cool nature, his kindness, his laugh and just hearing his voice. I am going to miss our road trips and him handing me a map and saying "here, you could look up where we're going" (he never used a GPS). He had so many great qualities and I am going to miss him so much. RIP my dear brother.

The passing of great union officers and leaders is something you know will come with time. The APWU has lost a Giant with the passing of Brother Preston. What a great person who welcomed everyone he came in contact with. As others have written, what a Class Act! It's the very first thing you think of when looking back on his contribution to the union and members he represented. My thoughts are with his family and I hope they know that there is someone in each of the 50 states Rob visited, that became his life friend.
