Obituary of Dorothy Ann Brown

Dorothy Ann (Wait) Brown, 84, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born February 24, 1937 in Osawatomie, Kansas to Adam R. & Viola J. (Johnson) Wait.After the death of her father, Dorothy and her mother moved to Colorado Springs in 1951 where Dorothy graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1955. Dorothy studied voice and was active in the Colorado Springs Opera Association. She later went on to earn a Bachelor of Music at Denver University. Dorothy taught voice for over forty years in her home and at the Nazarene Bible College. Dorothy was faithfully involved in church music ministry, and Christian Women's Club for many years.Dorothy was a devoted Mother, loving Nana, and loyal sister, friend, and teacher. To know Dorothy was to know a spirit of deep love, devotion, and humility. She was even tempered, and always portrayed the Spirit of her Lord. Whenever she sang, she left hearts touched by her beautiful voice, sincere message, and humble spirit. She truly had the voice of an angel.She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam Wait and Viola Wait Landes; brother, Leo Wait; sister, Madge (Wait) Compton; and sons-in-law, Doug Brown, and Hal Tumbleson.Dorothy is survived by her children, Cindy (Lee) Esch of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Becky (Ron) Brown-Helget of Melrose, Minnesota, Tim Brown of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Jenifer (Wes) Parr of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Nordby, Geoff (Alycia) Brown, Craig Brown, Chris (Jenny) Brown, Aaron (Alicia) Brown, Jenifer (Nico) Casale, Andrew Brown, Karissa Brown, Hayden Parr, Trent Parr, Ashlyn (Braydon) Lettkeman; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Lester (Virginia) Wait; and many nieces and nephews.Memorial Service, 1:00PM, Saturday, August 6, 2022, The Springs Funeral Services-North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.
